Inventory Management Specialist
Duties
- Plan and manage inventory levels for medical and non-medical supplies.
- Serve as the logistics subject-matter expert for the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF).
- Perform procurement and purchase card duties within the micro-purchase threshold.
- Use advanced automated systems to manage supply, equipment, and acquisition records.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and vendors to optimize quality, cost, and product selection.
- Train staff and support users on supply and equipment procedures.
- Ensure compliance with procurement laws, regulations, and quality assurance requirements.
- Independently control reorder points, stock levels, and phasing of procurements within funding limits.
Requirements Conditions of employment - Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position has mandatory seasonal Influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal Influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination tafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- Lifting up to 40 pounds may be required.
Qualifications Who May :
US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with purchasing medical and non-medical expendable supplies; identifying supply discrepancies and recommending solutions; conducting inventories and/or replenishing warehouse stocked items; and utilizing complex automated systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
OR Education:
Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Logistics or Supply Chain Management. (

OR Combination of Education and Experience:
A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. (
