Position Overview This is a hands-on working lead role for an individual who balances software-driven inventory tracking and procurement with practical mechanical troubleshooting. You will own our inventory control system, purchasing workflows, vendor relations, and day-to-day equipment readiness.

Fleet Oversight & Vendor Relations:

Owns the relationship, quality control, and cost management for all outsourced fleet repairs. Acts as the primary liaison to commercial repair shops—negotiating preferred pricing, auditing work orders, verifying repair quality, and holding external vendors accountable for fast turnaround times and high-caliber workmanship. Must excel at using software to manage stock levels, negotiate pricing with vendors, perform receiving and stocking duties, and execute practical in-house maintenance to keep our rigs moving without delay. Primary Responsibilities $2M+

Inventory & Procurement Management:

Utilize software systems (Airtable, Samsara, or dedicated inventory tools) to track, order, receive, and log all parts, fittings, chemicals, tools, and equipment supplies. Establish, audit, and adjust min/max stock levels so critical parts are always on hand without holding excess dead stock. Receive daily freight/deliveries, inspect shipments for accuracy/damage, organize, and stock inventory in designated shop/warehouse areas.

Vendor Relations & Cost Control:

Build and maintain relationships with equipment, chemical, auto, and hardware suppliers. Negotiate volume discounts, compare vendor pricing, and secure the best deals on high-use inventory to maximize budget efficiency. Audit incoming vendor invoices for pricing accuracy before submitting them for approval.

Fleet & Equipment Readiness:

Monitor fleet vehicles and field rigs using telematics ( Samsara ) and digital logs to stay ahead of routine maintenance (oil changes, tire rotations, inspections). Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot hot/cold pressure washers, soft-wash systems, pumps, hose reels, and water purification units. Perform practical in-house fixes (small engine servicing, plumbing fittings, 12V electrical, trailer wiring) to keep swing units field-ready and minimize third-party repair delays.

Trailer & Safety Compliance:

Ensure trailers undergo routine visual checks, semiannual PM visits, and annual DOT inspections before deployment.

Operations Support & Seasonal Prep:

Communicate daily with Operations regarding asset availability and immediate parts needs. Oversee seasonal equipment transitions, including winterizing water tanks, pumps, and chemical lines ahead of South Jersey freezes.

Qualifications & Skills Inventory & Systems Proficiency:

Demonstrable experience using software (Airtable, Samsara, inventory management systems, or spreadsheets) to track stock levels, purchase orders, and receiving records.

Purchasing & Vendor Management:

Proven experience managing inventory purchasing, monitoring min/max triggers, and negotiating pricing with vendors.

Hands-on Mechanical Aptitude:

Comfort working with small gas engines (Honda, Kohler), pressure pumps, plumbing/quick-connect fittings, 12V systems, or trailer wiring.

Physical & Warehouse Operations:

Ability to physically unload, organize, stock heavy inventory items (50-70 lbs), and keep a warehouse clean and structured.

Business Judgment & Safety:

Sharp decision-making skills to prioritize urgent production needs and an uncompromising standard for pulling unsafe equipment off the road.

Requirements:

Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.

Schedule & Working Conditions Hours:

Standard day shift (typically 6:45 AM / 7:00 AM start times during peak production season to support early morning dispatches).

Work Environment:

Active warehouse, dedicated shop garage, and inventory staging area with local driving for vendor drop-offs/pickups.
