Inventory SpecialistPosition Reports To:
Inside Sales ManagerSummary The inventory specialist duties include maintaining item and description integrity, as well as location and stock level accuracy for ductile iron pipe. Performs cycle counts, determines root causes of inventory inaccuracies, and recommends corrective actions. Collaborates with various departments to resolve inventory issues. Acts as the main focal point for production posting. Communicates inaccuracies with department heads as needed.

Job ResponsibilitiesOversee pipe & accessory inventory.

Lead weekly inventory meetings.

Manage inventory transactions with Microsoft Dynamics D365.Organize pipe yard & accessory warehouse in conjunction with shipping department.

Conduct monthly (or as needed) inventories of pipe & accessories.

Maintain monthly inventory accuracy and recommend continual improvement initiatives.

Reviews history of item usage to help determine mins/max levels.

Able to research historical inventory transactions to solve discrepancies and correct inventory errors. Working ConditionsPhysical activities that require use of arms and legs.

Lifting up to 50 pounds.

Stooping, and handling tools and materials.

The work environment is varied from a typical office setting to a warehouse environment that may be hot, cold, dusty, and noisy. As necessary, must wear common protective or safety equipment, such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and hard hats.

Weekend work required as needed. Up to one Saturday per month. QualificationsJob QualificationsAssociate or bachelor's degree in inventory management related field preferred OR 3
  • 5 years of related experience.
Must be capable of performing accurate mathematical calculations and analyzing problems.

Have good organizational skills and have strong written and verbal communication skills.

Computer literate; proficient with Microsoft Windows, MS Office programs and applications. Experience in Sage, Microsoft D365 Dynamics, and/or any ERP system is highly preferred.

Ability to efficiently manage multiple projects at once.

Time and priority management are a must.

Ability to work and collaborate with a diverse group of people.

Must be able to operate a company vehicle.
