OVERALL GOALS
Safely drive company pick-up truck with trailer to collect old carpet from retailers/customers. Efficient off-loading of carpet and pad materials. Accurate and efficient sortation by fiber type. Follow all safety rules for the facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist installers as they drop off carpet and pad for recycling. Accurately use fiber ID guns to sort carpet by fiber type. Operate baler safely and efficiently to create carpet and padding bales. Operate fork-lift to move material around the yard and onto trucks for shipping. Safely drive truck and haul trailers of carpet and pad.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & ABILITY
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies: Customer service—greet and assist installer customers as they arrive to drop off material. Dependability—keep up with the variety of volume and demands throughout the day. Versatility - able to fill a number of different roles. Safety and security—observes safety and security procedures and uses equipment and materials properly. Ability to read and interpret safety rules and instructions which are posted in English and Spanish. Communication - effectively and professionally conveys information internally and externally through verbal and written communication skills. Safe and competent driver who can navigate a pickup with a trailer attached.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE 1-3
years of experience working in a warehouse setting. Working knowledge of light machinery operation. Experience pulling trailers. Able to navigate a pickup and trailer combination Valid Driver's License with safe driving history.
