Overview Join our dynamic team as a Landfill Laborer, working Wednesday through Saturday from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM. In this vital role, you will be on the front lines of waste management and environmental stewardship, ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of landfill activities. Your energetic approach and commitment to safety will help maintain a clean environment while supporting sustainable waste disposal practices. Responsibilities Operate various material handling equipment such as loaders, excavators, forklifts, front loader trucks, roll-off trucks, and garbage trucks to manage waste and recyclable materials efficiently. Assist with the sorting, handling, and processing of recyclable materials in accordance with environmental regulations. Conduct heavy lifting tasks related to waste collection, transfer, and disposal activities while adhering to safety protocols. Maintain cleanliness of work areas by performing routine sanitation and debris removal tasks around the landfill site. Follow all safety regulations and hazard materials handling procedures to ensure personal safety and compliance with environmental laws. Support landfill management operations by monitoring equipment performance and reporting mechanical issues promptly. Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times during outdoor work activities. Requirements Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as loaders, excavators, forklifts, or similar machinery preferred. Knowledge of solid waste management, recycling processes, and hazardous materials regulations is highly desirable. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including heavy lifting and outdoor work in varying weather conditions. Mechanical knowledge or experience with material handling equipment operation is a plus. Strong understanding of safety regulations related to sanitation, environmental compliance, and heavy equipment operation. Prior experience working outdoors in a physically active environment preferred. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to following safety protocols at all times.
