OPERATOR NEEDED ASAP

Mon-Sat 645AM-515PM Rotating Schedule Cantonment, FL $20.75/HR Long Term, Temp to Hire Position!

•Must have experience operating articulated dump trucks and earth moving equipment like excavators, loaders, dozer's, etc. This is a "mandatory-testing" position that requires Drug Testing. Examples of Duties Operates a wide variety of medium to heavy equipment. Performs routine cleaning and preventive maintenance on applicable vehicles and equipment; prepares and maintains related records Assists in repairing heavy equipment and vehicles Prepares, updates, and maintains a variety of logs, records, and/or equipment maintenance schedules Performs traffic control for vehicles and equipment Performs other duties of a similar nature or level Positions assigned to the Landfill may be responsible for: Examining, recognizing, and screening municipal, special, and household hazardous waste entering the landfill facility Working/handling solid waste in accordance with best management practices relative to Solid Waste Management Assisting customers with questions and concerns Positions assigned to Recycling Operations may be responsible for: Transporting roll-off containers, electronics equipment trailers, and/or other related items to applicable locations

Typical Qualifications Minimum Qualification Requirements:

Training and Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) and at least one year of equipment operation or road construction experience; or, a combination of education and experience equivalent to these requirements.

Licenses and Certifications:

Valid Florida Driver's License and special endorsements, if required, for the type of equipment operated

Exception:

A licensed driver who lives in another state and travels regularly to work in Florida may maintain Operator's/Commercial Driver's license in state of residency. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics (KSAOs):

Knowledge of:

applicable medium and heavy equipment equipment maintenance and repair principles and practices occupational hazards and safe work methods Skill in: operating a variety of medium to heavy equipment performing preventive maintenance to applicable equipment preparing and maintaining a variety of records and logs communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction

Supplemental Information Emergency Management Responsibilities:

During emergency conditions, the incumbent of this position will automatically be considered an emergency service worker. This employee is subject to being called to work in the event of a disaster, such as a hurricane, or other emergency situation and is expected to perform emergency service duties, as assigned.

ADA Requirements Physical Requirements:

Positions in this class typically require: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, finger and hand dexterity as well as repetitive motions.

Very Heavy Work:

Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, gases, poor ventilation, oils, extreme temperatures, work space restrictions, intense noises and travel.

Pay:

$20.75 per hour
