A laborer is a worker who performs physical tasks and manual labor as part of their job. They are employed in a variety of industries from Warehousing to Manufacturing. Responsibilities can include assisting with shipping and receiving operations, moving equipment, and organizing inventory.
Performs a variety of custodial and maintenance duties to ensure safe, clean, and playable conditions at the Tennis Center, with a primary focus on clay tennis court maintenance.
Perform routine clay court maintenance:
daily rolling, brushing, line sweeping, and scraping of courts to maintain proper surface conditions. Conduct general tennis court upkeep, including dragging and lining hard courts. Inspect courts for hazards and report issues needing repair (cracks, drainage issues, net damage). Monitor and manage clay court moisture levels throughout the day based on weather and usage. Operate clay court maintenance equipment (rollers, line sweepers, lutes, rakes). Maintain cleanliness and safety of all tennis facility areas, including walkways, restrooms, and seating areas. Set up and break down equipment for tournaments, leagues, and recreational play. Perform a variety of custodial duties, including cleaning floors, windows, furniture, and restrooms. Perform other related duties as assigned Education High school diploma or equivalent Experience Experience with tennis court clay maintenance preferred License/Certifications Valid Florida Driver's License Key Competencies Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions Familiarity with tennis court-specific equipment and maintenance, including: Court rollers Line brushes Water hoses Ability to interact effectively and courteously with: General public Players Coworkers Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated Strong attention to detail Physical Requirements Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Work Days/Hours:
20-25 hours per week; position may require irregular working hours during the day, evening, and weekends.
