Manufacturing Laborer Job Description This role involves performing a variety of general labor tasks in a metal manufacturing environment, including preparing parts for welders, machine operators, and metal fabrication workers, as well as assisting with material handling, loading, and unloading. You will work with tape measures, hand tools, and power tools to support efficient and accurate production. Responsibilities Prepare metal parts and components for welders, machine operators, and metal fabrication workers according to production requirements. Assist with material handling activities, including moving, staging, loading, and unloading materials and finished products. Use a tape measure to accurately measure materials and verify dimensions before and after fabrication. Operate and handle hand tools and power tools safely to support metal fabrication and general production tasks. Support general manufacturing production activities as directed to maintain workflow and meet production schedules. Follow safety procedures and guidelines while working with metal materials, tools, and equipment. Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency. Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to complete tasks and resolve issues on the production floor. Essential Skills Ability to perform general labor tasks in a metal manufacturing environment. Experience using hand tools safely and effectively. Experience using power tools in a production or fabrication setting. Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately. Basic understanding of material handling practices, including loading and unloading materials. Capability to work in a manufacturing production environment with metal fabrication processes. Ability to follow instructions, safety procedures, and standard operating practices. Additional Skills & Qualifications Any education or certifications related to the manufacturing industry are a plus. Experience with overhead crane operation is a bonus. Willingness to learn new tools, equipment, and production methods. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Springfield, MO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
