Job Description
Overview Member of the operations Changeover Crew report directly to the Opeartions Coordinator. The position is primarily responsible for the changeover in the Clovis Civic Center from one event to another. Additionally, a member of the Changeover Crew may be involved in other aspects of building maintenance to include painting, trash disposal, exterior facility care, snow removal, furniture moving, etc. This responsibility requires physical labor and heavy lifting and therefore has lifting requirements. The Changeover Crew is a vital component of the venue in responding to the needs of promoters and clients. Maintaining a positive attitude and a positive appearance are essential. This role pays an hourly rate of $12.00 Benefits for Part-Time roles: 401(k) Savings Plan, 401(k) matching. This position will remain open until November 6, 2026. Responsibilities Participate in all aspects of the conversion process for events. Setting up and tearing down flooring, chairs, barricades, staging, tables, and other furnishings and equipment. Responsible for the physical setup of all areas around the venue, including chairs, tables, staging, furnishings, and equipment for banquets, conferences, and meetings. Responding to promoters'/clients' needs as directed by the onsite manager. Assist, when necessary, with pre/post event cleaning, including, but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, trash removal, vacuuming, spot cleaning, washing, and carpet cleaning. Get in and around the facility, bending, lifting, carrying, moving, climbing, working from various heights, and working in moderate to loud noises. Maintain outside grounds, including parking areas, entrances, and the event plaza. Perform repairs and maintenance tasks as needed, such as painting, patching, and other conversion-related operational equipment. Maintain an effective working relationship with other departments, clients, and patrons encountered in the course of employment. Work effectively under pressure and a stringent schedule to produce accurate results. Actively care for all venue equipment and property by storing, cleaning, and maintaining changeover equipment. Respond and resolve set-up issues promptly as directed by fellow staff and management. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous experience with event changeovers is preferred but not required. Ability to work under deadlines dictated by event schedules and project timetables. Ability to work independently and as a team. Ability to follow detailed instructions and communicate effectively with others. Must be adaptable with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines. Must be able to work a flexible schedule inclusive of weekdays, weekends, nights, and holidays required. Must be able to get in and around the facility, bending, lifting, carrying, moving, climbing, working from various heights, and dealing with moderate to loud noises. Snow removal of outside areas may be required during winter months. Must be able to work in a manner that is safe and effective. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time. Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time and meet deadlines. Ability to lift heavy objects unaided.
