Industrial, manufacturing, or mining environment About the Role As a Utility Operator, you'll play a key role in supporting plant and mine operations through general labor, material handling, and mobile equipment operation. This is an entry-level position with hands-on training and clear advancement opportunities for dependable, motivated individuals looking to build a long-term industrial career. Key Responsibilities Follow all company safety policies and MSHA regulations to ensure a safe work environment. Perform general labor and housekeeping duties in plant and quarry areas. Handle and stock materials such as fuel, rock, clinker, and cement. Operate mobile and material-handling equipment such as loaders, haul trucks, and water trucks. Assist in basic maintenance and inspections of equipment. Arrive on time and ready to work—punctuality and reliability are critical to supporting shift operations. Support production and shipping operations as needed. Work any assigned shift—including Dupont rotating schedule, weekends, and holidays—as required.
Qualifications Education:
High school diploma or GED required.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally and perform physically demanding work.
Employment Requirement:
Must successfully complete a pre-employment physical and drug screen .
Experience:
Previous mobile equipment or industrial experience preferred.
Skills:
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
Punctuality:
Must be consistently reliable and dependable with excellent attendance.
Teamwork & Flexibility:
Willingness to assist various departments and adapt to operational needs.
Shift Work:
May be required to work a rotating schedule (Dupont schedule), including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Work Environment Safety-Sensitive Work Site:
This role is classified as safety-sensitive under company policy and federal guidelines. Exposure to hot, cold, dusty, and noisy environments—indoors and outdoors. Work around heavy machinery, elevated areas, and airborne particles. Frequent standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, and lifting. Noise levels range from moderate to loud (PPE provided).
