Position Summary:
The Driver's Helper is responsible for assisting in delivering, unloading, and stocking products (cases and kegs) at retail locations in on and off premise accounts. Key duties include delivering and rotating stock, picking up empty barrels, using hand trucks, and ensuring accurate, professional service while riding with a driver.
Primary Responsibilities:
Ride with drivers to deliver beer to various locations, including restaurants, bars, and retail stores. Manually lift, stack, and transport cases of beer and kegs (often weighing up to 165 lbs) using hand trucks. Rotate product on shelves and in coolers to ensure freshness, following "first-in, first-out" procedures. Collect, load, and document empty kegs and damaged/returned products for credit. Act as a liaison between the company and retailers, providing friendly, professional service. Adhere to all safety regulations.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
A high school diploma or GED is generally preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy products (100+ lbs) for extended periods. Ability to work in varying weather conditions and navigate stairs, docks, and tight, crowded storage areas. Must have normal use of shoulders, arms, wrist, hands, feet and legs. Ability to climb in and out of vehicles, including trucks and heavy equipment. Capacity to remain alert and focused when working around moving vehicles.
Other:
This position may require overtime to complete assigned duties beyond the standard shift of 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Employees who are called in to report to work are guaranteed a minimum of 8 hours of compensation
