Job Description

Driver Helper - Evening Shift $18.83 per hour
Location:
Schertz, TX Schedule:
Starts at 3:00 PM and ends when the route is complete
Estimated Hours:
25-50 hours per week; hours will vary based on delivery volume and route length Position Summary We are hiring dependable Driver Helpers to assist with local delivery routes. This is a physically active position that involves riding with a commercial driver, unloading products at customer locations, organizing returned materials, and helping complete deliveries safely and accurately. Responsibilities Load and unload products by hand, hand truck, or pallet jack Deliver products accurately according to invoices and customer requirements Assist the driver with organizing and securing products, pallets, crates, trays, and totes Guide or "spot" the driver while maneuvering the delivery vehicle Count products and verify shipment quantities Read product labels and delivery documents Assist with route paperwork Provide courteous and professional customer service Maintain a clean and safe work environment Follow all company and workplace safety procedures Maintain dependable attendance and complete assigned routes Physical Requirements Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds Push and pull loaded equipment weighing up to 150 pounds Frequently stand, walk, bend, reach, and sit throughout the shift Occasionally kneel, crouch, crawl, twist, balance, and climb Work in refrigerated, frozen, outdoor, and changing-temperature environments Perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the delivery route Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Previous delivery, warehouse, food distribution, or frozen-food experience is preferred Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Strong attention to detail and basic counting skills Ability to work independently and as part of a two-person delivery team Professional attitude and strong customer-service skills Flexible availability, as finish times and weekly hours will vary Reliable transportation to the Schertz work location
