Full-Time Position Summary The Labor Hand assists with the day-to-day operations of an aggregate and gravel production facility. This position performs general manual labor, assists with material handling, maintains clean and safe work areas, and supports plant and yard operations. The employee may work around conveyors, crushers, screens, loaders, trucks, stockpiles, and other aggregate-processing equipment. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, physically capable, and willing to work as part of a team in an outdoor industrial environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Perform general labor duties at an aggregate/gravel processing facility, quarry, or material yard.

Assist with loading, unloading, moving, and organizing aggregate materials and supplies.

Shovel, rake, sweep, and clean around conveyors, crushers, screens, bins, stockpiles, and other equipment.

Assist plant operators and equipment operators with daily production and material-handling activities.

Monitor work areas and report equipment problems, spills, damaged materials, or unsafe conditions to the supervisor.

Assist with routine maintenance and cleaning of plant equipment as directed.

Remove debris and buildup from work areas and equipment.

Assist with conveyor and material-handling operations as assigned.

Help maintain stockpile and yard areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.

Use hand tools and basic equipment safely and properly.

Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable OSHA requirements.

Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety glasses, high-visibility clothing, work boots, hearing protection, and other equipment as required.

Communicate effectively with supervisors, equipment operators, truck drivers, and other employees.

Assist with traffic control and safe movement of vehicles and equipment around the worksite when assigned.

Perform other general labor and aggregate-production duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Previous experience in aggregate, gravel, quarry, construction, manufacturing, or industrial work is preferred but not required.

Ability to perform physically demanding manual labor.

Ability to work safely around heavy equipment and industrial machinery.

Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

Dependable attendance and punctuality.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Basic knowledge of hand tools is preferred.

A valid driver's license may be preferred depending on job responsibilities.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, climb, and work on uneven surfaces.

Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and tools.

Ability to work around dust, noise, vibration, heavy equipment, and changing outdoor temperatures.

Ability to safely perform manual labor in an active aggregate-processing environment.

Work Environment Work is primarily performed outdoors at an aggregate plant, gravel pit, quarry, or material yard. Employees may be exposed to dust, noise, vibration, moving machinery, heavy equipment, and varying weather conditions. Appropriate PPE and safety procedures are required at all times. Safety Responsibilities Safety is a critical component of this position. The Labor Hand must follow all company safety procedures, attend required safety training, use required PPE, maintain awareness of moving equipment and vehicles, and immediately report unsafe conditions or incidents to management.
