JOB SUMMARY
The Materials Planner is responsible for coordinating material planning activities across departments to support customer expectations, production schedules, and company objectives. This role ensures material availability, maintains accurate planning data in the MRP system, and partners closely with manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, and quality teams to keep production running smoothly. SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions Maintains accurate information in MRP system, including item attributes, Bill of Material, production routings, and customer and production schedules. Structures product BOM from released drawings Prepares purchase requisitions based on program requirements and released product BOM Monitors MRP, shortage lists, and related indicators to determine 100% material availability and a high rate of inventory turn to ensure 100% on-time customer delivery; utilizes audit reports and key performance metrics. Maintains master schedule or management of entry. Evaluates purchased part material requirements and plans supply. Releases internal production work orders. Monitors purchased and manufactured parts with the purchasing and manufacturing teams respectively Coordinates cross functional activities with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, and engineering to ensure a smooth flow of materials through the production processes. Implements Engineering Change Notices. Replaces materials timely due to non-conformance or scrap. Identifies and communicates a detailed status on any material planning items impacting the production schedule (e.g. part shortages). Identifies opportunities for improvement within the materials group and leads improvement initiatives; achieve 100% material availability; increased inventory turnover; transaction, variance, and work order reduction; standard MRP set-ups and physical material flow across multiple programs. Maintains a safe, secure and legal work environment, adhering to all Company policies and procedures. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Demonstrates professional responsibilities by cooperating with other personnel to achieve department objectives and maintain good employee relations, interdepartmental objectives, and departmental goals and objectives. Maintains and protects the confidentiality of the Company's information and products. Performs other duties and projects as assigned or requested.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Knowledge, and Experience Education:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field preferred.
Experience:
3 to 7 years of direct related experience is a plus, but not required.
Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to identify priorities and deliver results on time and within budget. Knowledge of ERP systems. Proficiency with PC-based tools, voicemail, email, and standard office equipment. High proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment
Preferred Skills/Experience:
Experience in materials planning, production planning, inventory control, or supply chain operations. Experience working in a manufacturing or aerospace environment. Familiarity with engineering drawings, BOM structure, and ECN processes. Experience supporting lean, continuous improvement, or inventory reduction initiatives.
Other:
