The Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Supply Chain Specialist to support purchasing activities within our supply chain team. This role will be focused on executing day-to-day procurement tasks in the ERP system, placing and tracking purchase orders, managing request status, and ensuring timely delivery of materials to support production and engineering programs. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate strong organizational skills, and serve as a key liaison between our internal teams and external suppliers. This role is critical in ensuring supply continuity and supporting the broader objectives of the supply chain team. Key Responsibilities Create and manage purchase orders (POs) within the ERP system based on demand signals, MRP recommendations, and internal requests. Track and update PO status, ensuring suppliers acknowledge, confirm, and deliver orders on time. Execute order management activities including reschedules, cancellations, and expedite requests in coordination with Global Supply Managers. Follow up with suppliers regularly to monitor order progress, resolve delivery issues, and maintain accurate ship dates. Support "Clear to Build" reviews by confirming material availability against program requirements and escalating gaps. Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions and supplier communications for traceability and audit readiness. Assist in onboarding new suppliers, obtaining quotes, and setting up vendor master data in coordination with supply managers and finance. Collaborate with receiving and inventory teams to resolve discrepancies, blocked invoices, and receiving issues. Communicate proactively with engineering, planning, and production teams to ensure alignment on priorities and material needs. Participate in continuous improvement of procurement workflows and support implementation of supply chain tools and dashboards. Assist in varied sourcing and supply chain development activities/ Support cross-functional projects and broader supply chain initiatives as assigned. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain/Operations Management, Business, or equivalent. ( 3+ years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. ) 1+ years of demonstrated success in a supply chain role. Proven experience in procurement operations and supplier management. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities. Knowledge of enterprise applications (i.e., PLM, ERP, MES) and proficient in data analysis. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience in defense, aerospace, or advanced manufacturing industries. Understanding of defense compliance (ITAR, EAR, NDAA). Exposure to startup or growth-stage operations.
