Job Description
About the job The Production Planner develops and manages production schedules that balance customer demand, capacity, materials, and labor to ensure efficient operations and on-time delivery. We're looking for someone who
- Has experience in production planning, scheduling, or manufacturing operations
- Demonstrates strong ERP/MRP system knowledge and production planning experience
- Has a solid understanding of production scheduling, capacity planning, and shop floor operations
- Is proficient in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, filters, and data analysis
- Can interpret bills of materials (BOMs), routings, lead times, and work center data
- Uses data to make informed production and scheduling decisions
- Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills and can identify production constraints and bottlenecks
- Communicates effectively with Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Customer Service teams
- Is highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and adapts to changing priorities
- Has experience in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments (preferred)
- Has experience in semiconductor, precision machining, or other advanced manufacturing industries (preferred) What you'll do
- Develop and maintain production schedules based on customer demand, capacity, labor, and material availability
- Manage work orders and ensure planning data remains accurate within the ERP/MRP system
- Monitor production schedules and adjust priorities to support on-time delivery
- Analyze production constraints and recommend solutions to improve workflow and efficiency
- Coordinate with Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Customer Service to resolve scheduling challenges
- Review demand, inventory, and capacity data to support production planning decisions
- Perform scenario planning and impact analysis for changes in customer demand or production capacity
- Track schedule adherence and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain accurate planning documentation and production reports
- Support operational excellence through proactive communication and cross-functional collaboration
