Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and compassionate After-School Youth Activity Coordinator to lead engaging, safe, and enriching activities for children and adolescents in our community. In this vital role, you will organize and supervise a variety of after-school programs, ensuring a positive environment that promotes growth, learning, and fun. Your enthusiasm and dedication will inspire young minds while fostering a sense of community and belonging. Responsibilities Plan, coordinate, and execute diverse after-school activities such as sports, arts, theater, tutoring, and recreational games that cater to varying interests and age groups Manage classroom behavior and maintain a safe environment through effective behavior management techniques Supervise children during activities, ensuring their safety at all times by adhering to established safety protocols Collaborate with teachers, parents, and community partners to support each child's developmental needs and special education requirements when applicable Provide first aid when necessary and respond promptly to emergencies or incidents involving children or staff Facilitate inclusive programs that accommodate children with diverse abilities, including those requiring special education or additional support Foster positive relationships with children by encouraging participation, teamwork, and respectful communication Drive approximately 60-90 minutes per day as part of the afternoon school pick-up routes Maintain a safe and responsible environment while transporting students Requirements Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp counseling, tutoring, or childcare is highly desirable Strong classroom management skills with the ability to guide behavior constructively and maintain order Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred; willingness to obtain if not already certified Experience working with children with special needs or in inclusive environments is a plus Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members Ability to plan engaging activities that promote physical activity, creativity, social skills, and emotional development Minimum 3 years of experience working with youth (after-school programs, camps, youth sports, education, etc.) Minimum 5 years of driving experience with a clean driving record Comfortable driving commercial passenger vans for student transportation Experience managing small groups of children in structured activities Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills Reliable, punctual, and professional Join us as an After-School Youth Activity Coordinator and be part of a vibrant team dedicated to nurturing young minds through lively programs that inspire growth!
