Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Buyer/Planner to support material planning and purchasing operations for a growing client in Clearwater, Florida. This position focuses on maintaining accurate item data, planning supply needs, and using system-driven information to support production readiness. The ideal candidate brings strong purchasing knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to translate demand forecasts into timely material availability.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update item records in client's ERP system, ensuring planning and purchasing data is complete, accurate, and current.
- Set and monitor replenishment parameters such as minimums, maximums, order quantities, and supplier lead times to support dependable inventory control.
- Enter and manage demand forecasts for materials required to assemble finished products based on production needs.
- Add new components and assemblies to bills of materials while verifying that part relationships and quantities align with requirements.
- Analyze system data to estimate material needs for larger production runs and determine timing for procurement activity.
- Review planning signals and recommended purchases to help ensure parts are available when needed for scheduled orders.
- Coordinate purchasing activities to secure materials in line with forecasted demand, inventory targets, and production timelines.
- Identify data discrepancies that could affect planning accuracy and take corrective action to improve purchasing and forecasting results.
