Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Associate's degree from an accredited institution.

Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.

Demonstrated experience and proficiency with personal computers and software applications including but not limited to Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Previous experience in a transportation role such as logistics, dispatch or data entry.

Bilingual fluency in Spanish, Portuguese, or Creole.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of HIPAA, Public Records, Sunshine Law, FERPA, and other laws/regulations related to student and employee privacy, public information, and records retention.

Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.

Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and best practices related to the area of responsibility.

Ability to communicate effectively in English.

Ability to work under pressure and meet close deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to professionally and effectively respond to customer needs and requests for service or assistance.

Ability to follow established procedures and guidelines.

Ability to retrieve, interpret, and communicate data in varied formats.

Ability to remain alert, patient, and calm in stressful situations.

Ability to sit and view computer screen or other monitoring devices for prolonged periods of time.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Typical duties include but are not limited to:

Assist in developing and maintaining efficient bus routes for Special Centers under the guidance of a Senior Router or supervisor.

Input and update student transportation data, stop locations, bell schedules, and special program information.

Make routine route adjustments based on enrollment changes, address updates, and school assignments.

Verify accuracy of route sheets, stop times, and driver instructions.

Respond to routine inquiries from schools, parents, and transportation staff regarding bus stops and schedules.

Provide assistance to higher-level routers on complex routing projects or data audits.

Maintain accurate records of route changes, stop requests, and assignment updates.

Maintain confidentiality of student information in accordance with FERPA and other applicable regulations.

Use two-way communication devices to relay route adjustments to operators.

Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
