Job Description
Job Summary Snead Eye Group is seeking a sales-driven Surgical Care Financial Counselor to guide patients through the financial aspects of their surgical care while actively driving surgical conversions. This role is ideal for a confident closer who is comfortable discussing pricing, insurance, and elective upgrades with patients in a fast-paced surgical environment. This position offers strong earning potential through a base hourly rate plus a performance-based incentive program tied directly to results. While posted as part-time, top performers may earn full-time (40-hour) pay based on performance and business needs. Earnings & Growth Opportunity This role is designed for high performers . In addition to hourly pay, you will be eligible for a results-driven incentive program based on surgical conversions and patient counseling outcomes. Your performance directly impacts your income. What You'll Do Conduct financial consultations with patients preparing for surgery (cataract, glaucoma, retina, LASIK, cosmetic/esthetic, and out-of-pocket upgrades) Clearly explain insurance benefits, deductibles, copays, coinsurance, and surgical costs Present and sell elective upgrades and premium surgical packages (advanced IOLs, LASIK options, cosmetic procedures) Guide patients through CareCredit, Alphaeon, or other financing programs Close cases and meet monthly surgical conversion targets Collaborate closely with physicians, technicians, and surgical scheduling teams Maintain accurate documentation in EMR/EHR and scheduling systems Assist with insurance verification, prior authorizations, and medical necessity documentation Provide professional, empathetic counseling while maintaining financial transparency Support process improvements and patient experience initiatives Provide light leadership or support to the surgical scheduling team as needed Qualifications 2+ years of sales experience (medical, optical, aesthetics, or elective procedures strongly preferred) Proven ability to close sales and discuss financial decisions with patients Experience with CareCredit, Alphaeon, or similar financing platforms Strong understanding of medical insurance and out-of-pocket quoting Experience selling elective medical services (LASIK, plastics, dermatology, aesthetics, cosmetic dentistry, etc.) EMR/EHR experience (NextGen, ModMed, or similar preferred) Professional communication skills with a patient-first mindset Leadership or supervisory experience preferred but not required Ideal Candidate Profile Sales-driven and goal-oriented Confident, polished communicator Comfortable talking money and closing cases Organized, detail-oriented, and results-focused Thrives in a fast-paced surgical environment Motivated by performance-based earnings Benefits 401(k) Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Paid time off Work Location In person - Fort Myers, FL Why Snead Eye Group Snead Eye Group is a physician-led ophthalmology practice focused on clinical excellence, ethical care, and growth.
