Job Description
Position Summary Peninsula Steel is seeking a proactive, organized, and dependable Logistics Coordinator to support the daily operation of our warehouse and logistics area. This is a full-time salaried position with a hands-on coordination role responsible for organizing the daily activities of forklift operators, managing shipping and receiving schedules, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring materials and finished products move safely and efficiently throughout the facility. The ideal candidate has previous experience in logistics, warehouse operations, or shipping and receiving; is comfortable coordinating employees and time-sensitive activities; and has practical experience using SAP and Microsoft Excel . Effective communication in both English and Spanish is required for this position. This position is Key Responsibilities Coordinate the daily activities and priorities of forklift operators. Ensure trucks are loaded and unloaded safely, accurately, and according to schedule. Monitor the daily shipping and receiving schedule and communicate delays, discrepancies, or operational issues. Prepare, review, and maintain shipping, receiving, and inventory documentation. Record inventory movements accurately in SAP and other applicable tracking systems. Perform inventory reconciliations and assist in investigating quantity or location discrepancies. Generate logistics, shipping, receiving, and inventory reports. Coordinate with production, operations, sales, and other internal departments to support timely deliveries and material availability. Help organize warehouse space and material flow to improve safety and operational efficiency. Provide clear instructions and follow-up to ensure daily logistics priorities are completed. Support internal controls, safety procedures, and established company policies. Identify operational issues and recommend practical process improvements. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized logistics and warehouse environment. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. At least one year of experience in logistics, warehouse operations, inventory control, or shipping and receiving coordination. Practical experience using SAP (or similar ERPs) is a plus . Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish . Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience using inventory or warehouse management systems. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records. Ability to coordinate employees and manage multiple time-sensitive priorities. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with employees, drivers, and internal departments. Preferred Skills and Competencies Experience coordinating forklift operators or warehouse personnel. Strong leadership and follow-up skills. Proactive and practical problem-solving abilities. Clear, confident, and assertive communication. Ability to remain organized and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment. Strong sense of accountability, urgency, and teamwork.
