We are seeking a motivated self-starter to join our team as a Logistics Coordinator. The Logistics Coordinator is involved with all functions of the brokerage operation from dispatch and tracking to customer communication. This role is key to the successful operation of the department and the satisfaction of our clients as it involves actively engaging in the entire process. Training will be provided. No previous industry experience is required.
Responsibilities:
- Dispatch drivers and monitor operations via logistics software and other tools.
- Confirm and schedule customer shipments and plan routes accordingly.
- Monitor shipping software and relevant data.
- Communicate updates, issues or delays with relevant parties.
- Identify and resolve potential issues and delays, such as missed pickups, traffic issues, or weather impacts, and escalate problems as necessary.
- Follow customer requirements and internal standard operating procedures (SOPs) and adapt to changes easily.
- Onboard new carries and accurately verify their information in the system.
- Assist clients by accurately quoting potential shipment prices.
Qualifications:
- Experience in a fast-paced work environment. Logistics experience is a plus but is not required. Training will be provided.
- College degree in related field is a plus but is not required.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain patient and calm under pressure.
- Proficiency or ability to learn with logistics software, tracking systems (TMS)
- Strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work collaboratively with warehouse staff and external partners.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Comfort and ability to negotiate price as required.
