Best Managed Company? KENT Worldwide™ , a family of companies committed to excellence and innovation, is hiring a Materials Planner at our Bolingbrook, IL location. The Materials Planner is responsible for reviewing inventory levels and developing, issuing, and managing production plans aligned with organizational goals, demand forecasts, customer orders, and available production capacity. The role focuses on creating efficient, cost effective, and reliable production plans that ensure adequate stock levels while maintaining strong cost controls through proper planning and oversight. The compensation range for this role is $24 to $28 per hour, in addition to KENT standard benefits (health, dental, vision, 401k). Final compensation is subject to variation based on the candidate's skills, job responsibilities, location and other pertinent factors.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Review inventory levels and develop accurate production plans to ensure sufficient supply to meet customer orders and forecasted demand. Identify and communicate forecast variances and potential shortages to relevant stakeholders. Coordinate with key departments to ensure all materials are available for on‑schedule production, following through to resolve issues and communicating any impacts to efficiency, timelines, or customer service. Support project management activities related to planning, including new item rollouts, by collaborating with cross‑functional teams. Prepare, review, and distribute reports used as communication tools for Customer Service and other internal partners. Create, maintain, and adjust accurate production and blend schedules for KCBA plants to guide daily operational activities. Enhance operational efficiency by minimizing changeovers, washes, and equipment movements through effective planning, sequencing, and coordination with key departments. Assist the Planning & Scheduling Supervisor in developing and executing continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain accurate, organized documentation, including process notes, meeting summaries, project updates, and email communications.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND/OR QUALIFICATIONS
1-2 years of relevant experience in planning or operations, preferably in Food/Food Packaging industry, or a company that supports blending and packaging operations. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent attendance and reliability record.
