Position Overview Drecisco is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Transport Operator to join our Operations team in Marengo, Illinois. The Transport Operator is responsible for the safe, secure, and compliant transportation of cannabis products from Drecisco's Marengo facility to licensed cannabis establishments and other authorized destinations throughout Illinois. This is more than a traditional delivery-driver position. Transport Operators are responsible for maintaining the security and control of regulated cannabis products throughout transportation, verifying products and required documentation, following established transportation and security procedures, and maintaining professional communication with customers and internal teams. This position requires regular statewide travel, strong attention to detail, dependable attendance, and the ability to adapt to changing routes, delivery schedules, traffic conditions, and other operational needs. Key Responsibilities Transportation & Delivery Safely and efficiently transport cannabis products to licensed destinations throughout Illinois. Operate company vehicles safely, professionally, and in accordance with company policies and applicable laws. Follow assigned routes, delivery schedules, and transportation instructions. Adapt to route or schedule changes as communicated by Transportation leadership. Verify delivery locations and authorized receiving personnel before completing deliveries. Maintain professional communication and conduct while representing Drecisco at customer locations. Complete required vehicle inspections and promptly report maintenance, safety, or mechanical concerns. Maintain company vehicles in a clean, safe, and orderly condition. Follow established procedures for vehicle fueling, maintenance, and other fleet-related activities. Product Control & Delivery Verification Verify product counts and required transportation documentation before departing the facility. Confirm that products being transported correspond with applicable manifests and delivery documentation. Maintain proper custody and control of cannabis products throughout transportation. Ensure transported products remain properly secured within the vehicle. Verify deliveries with authorized receiving personnel and ensure required delivery documentation is completed. Identify and promptly communicate product discrepancies, damaged products, incorrect quantities, rejected deliveries, or other delivery issues. Return undelivered, rejected, or otherwise returned products to the facility in accordance with established procedures. Maintain accurate accountability for products from loading through delivery or return. Compliance & Security Follow all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to transportation, security, inventory control, vehicle operation, and cannabis handling. Follow applicable Illinois cannabis transportation requirements and company security procedures. Maintain required transportation documentation and records throughout each assigned route. Follow established vehicle security, access-control, GPS, and tracking requirements. Maintain required communication with Transportation leadership while completing assigned routes. Immediately report accidents, security concerns, product discrepancies, vehicle problems, route disruptions, or other significant incidents. Maintain confidentiality regarding routes, schedules, customers, products, security procedures, and other sensitive transportation information. Follow established loading and unloading procedures, including requirements related to designated secure areas and camera coverage. Never leave cannabis products unsecured or unattended except as specifically permitted by established company procedures and applicable requirements. Operational Support Assist with loading and unloading company vehicles. Assist with verifying product counts, labels, packaging, and documentation prior to transportation. Support the staging and preparation of outgoing deliveries. Maintain accurate route, delivery, mileage, vehicle, and other required transportation records. Assist with organizing and maintaining transportation equipment and supplies. Communicate delays, delivery issues, customer concerns, or other route-related information to Transportation leadership promptly. Support other Transportation or Operations functions as assigned based on business needs. Schedule & Availability The standard schedule for this position is Monday through Friday . Transportation schedules may vary based on delivery requirements, customer availability, route length, traffic, weather, order volume, and other operational needs. Early morning departures, extended workdays, late returns, overtime, and occasional weekend work may be required. Transport Operators must have reasonable schedule flexibility to complete assigned routes and deliveries. Because routes may include destinations throughout Illinois, the end of the workday may vary depending on the assigned route and circumstances encountered during transportation. When work outside of the employee's normal schedule is required, scheduling will be communicated in advance whenever reasonably possible. Because this is a non-exempt position, employees are expected to accurately record all time worked in accordance with company policy. Required Qualifications Must be at least 21 years of age. Valid Illinois driver's license required. Minimum of one year of professional driving, delivery, transportation, or route experience required. Safe and responsible driving record. High school diploma or GED required. Ability to safely and professionally operate company transportation vehicles. Ability and willingness to regularly travel throughout Illinois. Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately verify product counts and documentation. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Basic math and computer skills. Ability to follow detailed written procedures, delivery instructions, and transportation requirements. Ability to work independently for extended periods while maintaining appropriate communication with leadership. Ability to respond professionally to route changes, delays, customer issues, and unexpected situations. Ability to properly handle confidential and security-sensitive information. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Must meet all applicable eligibility, background-check, and credential requirements for employment within the Illinois cannabis industry. Preferred Experience Previous commercial delivery, transportation, logistics, or route-driving experience. Previous cannabis industry experience. Experience transporting regulated, controlled, high-value, or sensitive products. Familiarity with Illinois cannabis transportation requirements. Experience using GPS, route-management, or fleet-tracking systems. Experience with inventory or ERP systems such as Business Central. Experience using barcode scanners, labeling systems, or inventory-control processes. Knowledge of cannabis product packaging and labeling requirements. Previous warehouse, fulfillment, or material-handling experience. Forklift certification or previous forklift experience is a plus. Physical Requirements Ability to drive for extended periods. Ability to regularly enter and exit company vehicles throughout assigned routes. Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, push, and pull as required during transportation and delivery activities. Ability to safely load, unload, move, and handle products and transportation containers. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to work in varying weather and environmental conditions associated with transportation and deliveries.

Compensation & Benefits Compensation:

$20.00 per hour.

Drecisco provides health and dental insurance with 100% of the employee premium paid by the company and 50% of dependent premiums covered by the company. Additional voluntary benefits may include vision, accident, critical illness, and hospital coverage. The company also provides $50,000 in employer-paid life insurance. Benefits are effective the first of the month following 30 days of employment.

Paid Time Off:

Employees are eligible for three weeks of paid time off, accrued each pay period.
