Lakeshore Athletic Services (LAS) is hiring motivated, hands-on individuals to join our event operations crew as an event operations & logistics coordinator . Lakeshore Athletic Services has been a leader in athletic event production for over 45 years. We specialize in race management, logistics, and professional timing services for road races, track and field meets, and triathlons across the country. LAS was founded by a former NCAA athlete and coach and follows principals built on teamwork, comradery, and persistence . Headquartered in Morton Grove, IL, we also operate offices and warehouses in Palmetto, FL, and Mesa, AZ. Event Operations & Logistics Coordinator The Event Operations & Logistics Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and production of event operations and logistics for a wide variety of athletic and endurance sports events. The Event Operations & Logistics Coordinator will have the opportunity to service existing events in the Chicagoland area and nationwide, including Ironman triathlon events. The ability to travel to and from road race and athletic events is a job requirement. A successful candidate must understand the endurance sports event industry and effectively manage and market LAS services as well as the logistics of warehousing and equipment shipping. This is an in-person full-time position based out of our Morton Grove Illinois headquarters administrative offices and warehouse. Candidates entering the special event industry will be considered.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day relationship with event clients
• Develop event proposals
• Communicate and follow up with clients as needed
• Prepare and distribute event logistics plans and warehouse load lists
• Lead on-site operations, including team management and client communication
• Supports the team of event operations & logistics coordinators onsite at events.
• Operate equipment and vehicles (e.g., forklifts, 26ft trucks, golf carts)
• Conclude with any necessary post-event follow ups
• Travel to event sites across the U.S. (frequent travel required)
• Other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:

• 2-3 years of event experience preferred (but entry-level candidates welcome)
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record (MVR required)
• Willingness to obtain a Class C license (26,000 lb trucks) within 2 months of hire
• Proficiency in Google Suite and general computer literacy
• Organizational skills and attention to detail
• Leadership ability and a collaborative mindset
• Must be able to lift/carry 50+ lbs repeatedly and work long hours outdoors
• Comfortable working early mornings, weekends, and in all weather conditions
• Zero tolerance for drugs/alcohol; strict adherence to safety protocols

Physical Requirements:

• The role involves setting up and breaking down tents, barricades, signage, event equipment, and other infrastructure components.
• This role requires frequent physical activity and stamina, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods throughout the workday.
• Employees must be able to lift, carry, and maneuver up to 50 pounds repeatedly for extended periods.
• Work is performed primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wind.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Competitive salary is based on event industry experience starting at $55,000 a year.
