Primary Role:

The Shipping Specialist verifies and maintains records on outgoing shipments. Prepares items for shipment. Duties include assembling, addressing, stamping, and shipping merchandise or material and arranging for the transportation of product.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

(Management may amend or assign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time) Examine contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders to verify the accuracy of outgoing shipments. Prepare documents, such as work orders, bill of ladings or shipping orders to route materials. Determine shipping method for materials, using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates. Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock. Contact carrier representatives to arrange or to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials. Back up when department lead is not present Ship Hazardous and Non-Hazardous Materials following all regulatory guidelines Assist in packaging orders as needed

Pay:

$16.50 - $17.00 per hour
