Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Production Planner to join our manufacturing team. In this vital role, you will orchestrate the production schedule, ensuring seamless coordination between supply chain, manufacturing, and quality control to meet customer demands efficiently. Your expertise in production management systems and supply chain analytics will drive continuous improvement initiatives, optimize resource utilization, and uphold the highest standards of manufacturing excellence. Duties Independently develops and maintains production and material plans for assigned site operations and/or more complex contracts; evaluates schedule requirements, WIP, inventory levels, and material availability to determine planning priorities and corrective actions. 20% Leads SAP planning administration for contracts, BOMs, routings, work centers, confirmations, and daily production records; reviews transaction accuracy, investigates exceptions, and directs corrections needed for period close. 20% Partners with Procurement to determine material requirements, prepare and prioritize requisitions, and resolve supplier or order-timing issues that affect production schedule attainment and inventory targets. 20% Directs monthly inventory reconciliation activities for assigned areas, assigns count validation work, analyzes variances, and determines actions needed to align inventory records with the production schedule and lot forecasts. Performs other administrative production and material planning duties as assigned; may lead special planning analyses or process-improvement efforts for assigned operations. 20% Leads production planning meetings for assigned areas; provides guidance to Operations, Quality, Inventory, Procurement, and Finance on planning risks, priorities, and decisions required to maintain delivery commitments. 10% Serves as a subject matter resource for SAP planning processes; trains counterparts, reviews planning practices, and recommends process improvements to support accurate and compliant planning activity. 10% Skills Advanced SAP production planning and materials management knowledge Advanced knowledge of demand planning, production planning, production scheduling, forecasting, inventory management, and inventory control Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment on planning priorities, inventory actions, and cross-functional issue resolution Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and Microsoft Office skills Ability to train others and recommend process improvements Qualifications H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required Associate's Degree (AA) in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field Preferred 7+ years 7+ years in production operations, materials planning, production planning, inventory control, procurement, or related supply chain function; experience resolving complex planning, inventory, and SAP transaction issues
