Planner Material Dana Corp United States, Kentucky, Danville 500 Techwood Drive (Show on map) Sep 01, 2026 Job Purpose To plan, schedule, and coordinate the flow of materials required for manufacturing operations, balancing inventory levels with production needs while minimizing waste, delays, and costs. The Material Planner acts as a key link between procurement, production, and supply chain teams to ensure efficient material availability and usage. Job Duties and Responsibilities Analyze production schedules and forecasts to determine material needs and ensure timely availability.

Maintain optimal inventory by tracking usage, identifying shortages or excesses, and initiating replenishment orders.

Work closely with purchasing teams and vendors to ensure on-time delivery of materials and resolve supply issues.

Input and manage material planning data in systems like SAP or Oracle to ensure accurate tracking and reporting.

Collaborate with manufacturing, logistics, and warehouse teams to align material flow with production goals and minimize downtime. Education and Qualifications Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of applicable experience

3+ years of experience Skills Ability to interpret production schedules, demand forecasts, and inventory data to plan material requirements accurately and efficiently.

Skilled in using enterprise resource planning systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) to manage material planning, inventory tracking, and procurement coordination.

Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with suppliers, procurement, production, and logistics teams, ensuring alignment and timely issue resolution.
