This is a second-shift position, working Monday through Friday with occasional Saturday shifts. The work hours are from 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM. The hourly wage for this role is $22 per hour. Overview of the
Role:
As a key member of our team, the Distribution Center Specialist will oversee and coordinate the daily operations of the Norton Distribution Center, ensuring smooth and efficient inbound and outbound logistics. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this role is vital in maintaining operational excellence, safety, and compliance within the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as the primary liaison with the production plant to address issues related to inbound and outbound orders, ensuring timely and accurate processing. Prepare and organize pick sheets and Bill of Ladings (BOLs) for efficient shipment processing. Communicate effectively with inbound and outbound drivers regarding dock door assignments to optimize loading and unloading schedules. Conduct and document weekly safety inspections of the facility's interior and exterior to uphold safety standards. Assist in preparing for third-party audits by organizing relevant documentation, including pest control reports, rack safety inspections, and preventive maintenance records for forklift equipment. Provide the customer service team with weekly updates on short-dated products to facilitate proactive customer communication. Collaborate closely with QA to monitor and approve test-and-hold products, maintaining clear communication channels for quality assurance. Maintain and regularly update operational reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to track performance metrics and identify areas for improvement. Verify staged orders prior to loading to ensure accuracy and completeness. Support the configuration of Microsoft Dynamics 365 for new product entries and coordinate sample orders with various departments including Customer Service, Sales, Marketing, R&D, and QA. Assist in the daily posting and tracking of all shipment activities. Perform other related duties as assigned to support the overall efficiency of the distribution center.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's degree preferred; relevant experience may substitute. Prior experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment is advantageous. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite required; experience with MSD365 / Microsoft Dynamics or other ERP systems is a plus. Basic troubleshooting skills for computer hardware are preferred, enhancing operational productivity.
Physical & Working Environment:
Must have good vision and manual dexterity to handle detailed tasks efficiently. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working at a desk or on the computer. The role may require some Saturday work based on operational needs.
