We are seeking a hard-working Powder Metal Technician on the day shift for our 220+ employee manufacturing business located in Wrentham, MA. The company offers a team based environment with excellent benefits and compensation.
PRIMARY FUNCTION
Receives powder shipments to verify material, quantity, and condition, maintains inventory of powders and requisition material as needed, blends various combinations of powdered metals and lubricants to Master Control specifications, and processes iron and brass remix.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Responsible for following and maintaining adequate safety conditions when working with hazardous materials. B. Monitors presses at start of shift to determine daily powder needs. C. Coordinates with department supervisor to establish priorities. D. Weighs specified amounts of material using scales. E. Loads pre-measured amounts of powders and lubricants into mixing machine and starts motor. F. Stops machine after specified time and transfers mixture into containers and applies signed mixture to label drum. G. Prepares material requisition to remove mixed powders from stock inventory. H. Transports mixed powder to press room for use. I. Screens filter credits and mix in small quantities with powder for reuse. J. Prepares receiving record upon company receipt of material and verifies material, quantity and condition. K. Processes scrap L. Maintains work area in clean condition.
TECHNICAL EXPERTISE
A- Capable of operating material handling equipment. B- Proficient in fundamental math, including common and decimal fractions.
