Material Planner
Job Description
Our team is looking for a dedicated Materials Analyst to oversee inventory and planning operations in our dynamic manufacturing facility. You will play a vital role in balancing production needs with stock availability, focusing on optimizing inventory accuracy and preventing costly supply interruptions. We are searching for individuals who bring a solid background in MRP software, vendor coordination, and inventory oversight specifically within a production setting. Core Duties Oversee material needs to help maintain a seamless production flow. Generate and update vendor releases to align with current manufacturing demands. Coordinate with vendors to manage order requirements, address shortages, and track delivery timelines. Track stock levels to proactively identify and mitigate potential supply gaps. Collaborate with the production team to troubleshoot and resolve material-related bottlenecks. Analyze inventory variances to uncover and address the underlying causes of discrepancies. Manage the transfer of components between warehouse and production zones. Contribute to the success of cycle counting programs to ensure high inventory precision. Set and manage optimal safety stock thresholds to protect against supply volatility. Partner with Engineering to facilitate smooth transitions for new parts and product updates. Report on critical supply chain KPIs to keep stakeholders informed. Assist in the strategic planning of freight and inventory logistics. Engage in regular planning sessions to align supply chain activities with production goals. Perform various supply chain tasks as required to support team objectives. Required Qualifications A bachelor degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related discipline is preferred. Applicants lacking a degree may be considered if they possess at least four years of direct experience in planning, purchasing, or supply chain roles. At least two years of professional experience utilizing MRP systems in a manufacturing setting. Demonstrated proficiency with ERP software, with a preference for candidates familiar with PLEX. Comprehensive knowledge of material flow and inventory control principles. Proven ability to manage vendor relationships and ensure timely delivery of materials. Prior experience working with international suppliers is considered an asset. Strong technical skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Familiarity with customs and duty regulations is a beneficial skill. Experience handling subcontracted, consigned, trim, or fabric materials is a plus. Fluency in German or Spanish is viewed as an advantageous qualification.
