This role ensures shipments are scheduled, tracked, and delivered efficiently, safely, and on time. The Logistics Specialist works closely with carriers, customers, warehouse teams, and internal departments to support smooth transportation operations and resolve shipping issues as they arise. Responsibilities
  • Coordinate freight shipments by rail and over the road
  • Schedule pickups, deliveries, and transfers with carriers and customers
  • Track shipments and provide status updates to internal teams and customers
  • Prepare and review shipping documents, bills of lading, and related paperwork
  • Communicate with railroads, trucking companies, terminals, and warehouses
  • Monitor transit times, delays, and exceptions to ensure timely delivery
  • Resolve transportation issues, claims, and service concerns
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, costs, and carrier performance
  • Support compliance with transportation regulations, safety requirements, and company policies
  • Identify opportunities to improve freight efficiency and reduce transportation costs
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience in logistics, transportation, freight coordination, or supply chain operations desired
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with transportation management systems and Microsoft Office applications desired
Work Environment:
This position may require frequent communication with external carriers and internal teams, as well as occasional flexibility to address shipment issues outside normal business hours.
Pay:
$60,000.00
