Are you an experienced supply chain and inventory planning leader looking for an opportunity to make a significant impact? Our client is a high-performing, rapidly growing manufacturing organization that has recently expanded its facility and invested in cutting-edge technology and advanced manufacturing capabilities . We are looking for an experienced Manager, Inventory Planning to lead inventory management, production planning, and supply chain planning initiatives in a dynamic production environment. This is an opportunity to join an organization focused on continuous improvement, operational excellence, and innovation , while playing a key leadership role in optimizing production flow, inventory levels, and customer delivery performance. Position Overview The Manager, Inventory Planning will lead the inventory management and operations planning process to effectively balance forecasted demand and supply. This position will be responsible for supporting revenue objectives, improving on-time delivery, optimizing inventory, and ensuring customer requirements are met. You will work closely with Operations, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Materials, and Logistics to improve production flow, minimize disruptions, and develop processes that support continued business growth. Key Responsibilities Lead a team responsible for demand planning, supply planning, master production scheduling, and finished goods planning. Develop and implement planning strategies within the company's ERP system to achieve service level and inventory objectives. Establish and strengthen the SIOP (Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning) process. Develop an integrated, level-loaded master production schedule connecting supply and demand forecasts. Oversee the movement of materials and related information from receiving through production and delivery. Provide leadership and direction to materials and production scheduling teams. Manage raw materials, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods inventory. Improve key performance metrics including order fill rate, inventory turns, slow-moving inventory, obsolete inventory, and on-time delivery . Identify potential supply chain and production issues early, communicate risks to senior leadership, and recommend corrective actions. Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean manufacturing principles and standardized planning processes. Develop and implement Plan for Every Part (PFEP) strategies to optimize inventory levels and turnover while minimizing product shortages and customer delays. Partner with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Operations on new product introductions and material transitions while minimizing inventory obsolescence. Collaborate with Finance to ensure accurate inputs for financial reporting and analysis. Monitor team performance, provide coaching, and develop team members. Lead cross-functional projects from planning through execution while identifying and mitigating operational risks. Build strong relationships with internal business partners and promote a collaborative, results-oriented culture. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or a related field required. 6+ years of experience in supply chain, inventory planning, materials management, production planning, or a similar function within a manufacturing environment. Experience in a machining and assembly production environment strongly preferred. Strong understanding of MRP, inventory management, capacity planning, production scheduling, and Lean Manufacturing . Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems ; SAP experience preferred. Experience using Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI and/or Tableau . Strong data analysis, data mining, reporting, and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to lead teams and deliver results in a rapidly changing environment. Strong project management skills with the ability to assess risk, identify problems, and implement solutions quickly. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills. Ability to effectively collaborate across multiple departments and levels of an organization.
