Job Overview Are you passionate about logistics, international shipping, and solving complex transportation challenges? Do you thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where every shipment matters? Voltage is seeking a Freight & Logistics Specialist to manage domestic and international freight operations while partnering with ocean carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and third-party logistics providers (3PLs). This role is ideal for someone who enjoys optimizing transportation networks, negotiating freight solutions, and ensuring products arrive on time across North America. What You'll Do You'll be responsible for coordinating transportation from supplier to customer while supporting both domestic and international logistics operations. Daily Responsibilities Coordinate domestic and international shipments via ocean, truck, rail, air, and parcel carriers. Manage inbound and outbound ocean freight and container movements. Work directly with freight forwarders, customs brokers, steamship lines, carriers, and 3PL providers. Schedule shipments while ensuring on-time pickup and delivery. Monitor shipments from origin through final destination. Resolve transportation delays, freight claims, damaged shipments, and service issues. Review freight invoices for accuracy and approve transportation costs. Negotiate transportation rates and support carrier selection.
Coordinate import/export documentation including:
Commercial Invoices Packing Lists Bills of Lading Certificates of Origin Shipping Instructions Ensure compliance with import/export regulations and customs requirements. Maintain shipment visibility using ERP and transportation systems. Analyze freight spend and identify cost-saving opportunities. Track transportation KPIs including on-time delivery, freight costs, carrier performance, and transit times. Build strong partnerships with suppliers, warehouses, production teams, freight forwarders, and logistics providers. What We're Looking For Required Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field. 3+ years of transportation or logistics experience. Experience coordinating both domestic and international shipments.
Experience with:
Ocean freight Domestic LTL/FTL transportation Import/Export logistics Freight forwarding Third-Party Logistics Providers (3PLs) Experience working with freight carriers and transportation vendors. Strong Excel and ERP skills. Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
