Duties Safely operate specialized vehicles, including passenger vans, limousines, or other authorized transport vehicles, adhering strictly to traffic laws and state transportation regulations. Conduct precise manual handling and heavy lifting of caskets or remains, ensuring respectful treatment at all times. Navigate local driving routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems to meet timely transport schedules. Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients, families, funeral homes, and facility staff to coordinate pick-up and drop-off arrangements. Maintain vehicle cleanliness, perform routine maintenance checks, and report any mechanical issues promptly to ensure safety and reliability. Follow all protocols for medical transportation and mortuary procedures, including proper documentation of transport logs. Adhere to confidentiality standards and handle all remains with dignity, respect, and professionalism. Experience Previous experience as a delivery driver or chauffeur driving passenger vehicles such as limousines, shuttle buses, or personal vehicles is highly desirable. Proven ability to operate bus driving or shuttle driving services with a focus on safety and customer service. Familiarity with GPS navigation tools and local driving routes to optimize transport efficiency. Experience in medical transportation or handling sensitive cargo involving heavy lifting or manual handling is preferred. Strong communication skills for client interaction, client communication, and coordination with team members. Knowledge of heavy lifting techniques, vehicle maintenance routines, and adherence to traffic regulations ensures safe operations. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; specific certifications such as driver or chauffeur license are advantageous.
