Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Grocery Operations Specialist to lead and optimize our supply chain and warehouse operations. In this role, you will oversee inventory management, procurement processes, logistics coordination, and category management to ensure seamless product flow from suppliers to store shelves. Responsibilities Manage warehouse distribution activities, including stock replenishment, inventory control, and manual handling procedures to maintain optimal stock levels. Coordinate procurement and sourcing activities utilizing systems such as ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, AS400) and transportation management systems to ensure timely delivery of goods. Conduct data collection and analysis using tools like SQL, Excel data analysis, and Tableau to identify trends, root causes of issues, and opportunities for process improvement. Oversee shipping & receiving operations, including freight management, 3PL partnerships, and compliance with international trade regulations. Collaborate cross-functionally with vendor management teams to negotiate pricing, terms, and vendor performance metrics while fostering strong supplier relationships. Implement category management strategies by analyzing demand planning data and adjusting stocking levels accordingly to meet customer needs efficiently. Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory management systems to optimize storage solutions, reduce waste, and improve overall logistics efficiency. Support transportation planning efforts by coordinating with transportation management teams to ensure timely delivery schedules are met while maintaining cost efficiency. Lead process improvement initiatives focused on supply chain analytics, trade compliance practices, and logistics management to enhance operational excellence. Maintain excellent customer service standards by ensuring accurate order fulfillment and efficient shipping & receiving processes. Experience Proven experience practicing in a supply chain operations role within a warehouse or distribution environment. Strong background in warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory management systems, ERP platforms (such as SAP or AS400), and transportation management systems. Demonstrated skills in data analysis using SQL, Excel (including spreadsheets), Tableau or similar tools for insights-driven decision-making. Hands-on experience with materials handling equipment such as forklifts; certification preferred but not mandatory. Knowledge of procurement processes including sourcing, vendor management, negotiation tactics, and freight logistics. Familiarity with international trade regulations and trade compliance standards related to grocery or retail supply chains. Excellent analysis skills with the ability to identify root causes of operational issues and implement effective solutions. Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration across procurement, logistics, customer service, and warehouse teams. Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
