Systems Support Supervisor Job Type:
Full-Time Location:
Islandia, NY We are seeking an experienced and solutions-oriented Warehouse Systems Support Supervisor to support technology and systems operations within a fast-paced distribution center environment. This position will work closely with the IT Manager and warehouse leadership to configure, maintain, troubleshoot, and support system and network infrastructure, warehouse technology, RF/wireless equipment, handheld devices, servers, applications, and other operational systems . The ideal candidate has strong technical troubleshooting skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience supporting technology in a warehouse, distribution, or logistics environment. The ability to remain calm under pressure and quickly resolve issues that may impact warehouse operations is essential. Key Responsibilities Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows-based workstations, handheld devices, and servers . Provide second- and third-level technical support as needed. Support and troubleshoot Autonomous Guided Vehicles (AGVs) and related warehouse technology. Configure, monitor, and maintain network infrastructure, including switches, routers, access points, and network devices . Create, configure, and maintain user accounts within an enterprise environment. Set up, configure, and troubleshoot RF and wireless devices used throughout warehouse operations. Install, configure, and troubleshoot various printer technologies. Set up and maintain desk phones and mobile/cellular devices. Perform or oversee software installations, updates, upgrades, and related maintenance. Maintain software and technology licenses for departments and facility operations. Troubleshoot network, system, hardware, and application issues that could interrupt warehouse operations. Communicate technical issues, solutions, and preventive measures to operations teams and leadership. Develop and maintain SOPs, run books, training materials, and instructional documentation for IT-related processes. Establish and perform preventive maintenance programs in accordance with company and manufacturer standards. Document network and system problems, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions for future reference. Maintain confidentiality and security regarding information processed, stored, or accessed through company systems. Assist with IT-related projects and may lead projects as assigned. Work closely with warehouse operations to minimize technology-related downtime and operational disruptions. Perform other duties as assigned. Travel may be required. Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery The Warehouse Systems Support Supervisor will play an important role in maintaining business continuity and minimizing operational disruption.
Responsibilities may include:
Supporting SQL and VM server environments . Assisting with system failover preparation and testing. Preparing distribution center systems for failover events. Working with operations to complete system failover with minimal impact on warehouse operations. Maintaining detailed, step-by-step business continuity and system recovery procedures. Creating and maintaining daily store orders through the designated portal. Participating in bi-annual business continuity training and sandbox testing. Responding quickly and calmly to system emergencies and taking appropriate action to minimize operational impact. Required Qualifications 4+ years of professional IT experience . Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications . Working knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and Exchange . Experience with network technologies, including switches, routers, access points, and related equipment . Strong technical troubleshooting and analytical skills. Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical employees and warehouse personnel. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to prioritize multiple issues in a fast-paced operational environment. Ability to remain calm and make effective decisions during system or operational disruptions. Preferred Qualifications The following experience is highly desirable: Warehouse or distribution center IT experience. Experience supporting warehouse management systems and logistics technology . Understanding of warehouse operations and logistics processes. Experience supporting RF scanners, handheld devices, and wireless warehouse technology . Experience with Autonomous Guided Vehicles (AGVs) . Knowledge of Linux . Experience with SQL. Experience with virtual machine/server environments. Experience with business continuity, disaster recovery, or system failover procedures. Work Environment This position operates in a fast-paced distribution center environment and requires the ability to work safely around warehouse equipment and changing environmental conditions. The employee may work around or with: Forklifts Pallet jacks Reach trucks Clamps Scissor lifts Heavy moving equipment Warehouse machinery Varying temperatures Elevated work areas The position requires the ability to safely navigate an active warehouse environment while performing technical support responsibilities. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds . Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods. Ability to work in a warehouse environment for extended periods. Pay:
$66,300.00 - $70,000.00 per year
