Driver Recruitment Specialist Indianapolis, IN | On-Site About the Opportunity Vaco is partnering with a growing transportation and logistics organization to identify a Driver Recruitment Specialist who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume recruiting environment. This is an opportunity for a recruiter who enjoys building relationships, making outbound calls, moving quickly on candidates, and directly impacting business growth. Unlike a traditional corporate recruiting role, this position blends recruiting, relationship management, and business development. The ideal candidate is energized by working the phones, engaging candidates quickly, and building pipelines that translate into successful placements and long-term retention. What You'll Do Recruiting & Pipeline Management Manage the full-cycle recruiting process for a variety of driver opportunities, including: Independent contractor delivery drivers Commercial drivers Owner-operators Lease-to-own transportation programs Review incoming applications and quickly engage qualified candidates. Conduct phone screens to assess qualifications, availability, and overall fit. Maintain an active recruiting pipeline and prioritize speed to contact. Educate candidates on available opportunities and career paths. Partner with operations leadership to facilitate interviews and candidate introductions. Track recruiting activity and candidate progress within the applicant tracking system. Driver Engagement & Retention Build relationships with newly contracted drivers. Conduct follow-up outreach and retention check-ins. Partner with operations teams to address concerns and improve driver experience. Support initiatives that increase retention and long-term success. Serve as an advocate and point of contact throughout the recruiting process. Team Collaboration Work closely with operations, fleet, and compliance teams to ensure a smooth transition from recruitment to onboarding. Participate in regular meetings regarding workforce needs and recruiting priorities. Help identify opportunities to improve recruiting effectiveness and candidate experience.

Consistently engage applicants quickly. Maintain strong candidate pipelines. Make a high volume of outbound recruiting calls. Build relationships that lead to long-term retention. Contribute to a team goal of bringing new drivers into orientation each week. Take ownership of recruiting results and pipeline performance.
What We're Looking For:
Required Qualifications 2+ years of recruiting, staffing, talent acquisition, sales, business development, or customer-facing experience. Strong phone presence and ability to build rapport quickly. Comfortable making outbound calls and working in a high-volume environment. Ability to manage multiple candidates and priorities simultaneously. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficiency with ATS platforms, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office tools. Preferred Qualifications Transportation, logistics, staffing, trucking, light industrial, or blue-collar recruiting experience. Experience recruiting high-volume hourly workforces. Background in sales, account management, or customer acquisition. Experience working with independent contractors or owner-operator populations. Compensation & Benefits Base salary of $70,000-$80,000 based on experience and fit for job Performance-based bonus program tied to recruiting and retention success Company provided medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, 401K + match, PTO, Holiday Pay, etc. Work Environment Full-time, on-site position in Indianapolis, IN.
