Regional Logistics & Patient Movement Pafford Medical Services is seeking detail-oriented logistics professionals—with an EMT certification preferred, but not required—to serve as Transport Specialists, acting as the central operational bridge between health system discharge planners, transfer centers, and field crews. Leveraging operational experience and clinical or healthcare transport knowledge, the Transport Specialist manages, routes, and directs patient transport logistics across multiple hospital systems and service regions. The Specialist performs level-of-care assessments, optimizes regional asset coverage, navigates multi-jurisdictional transport requirements, and ensures seamless, compliant patient movement across all modalities (BLS, ALS, SCT, and CCT). Essential Duties and Responsibilities Receive inbound transport requests from hospital transfer centers and case managers, analyzing clinical needs to ensure the requested transport level (BLS, ALS, Specialty Care Transport [SCT], or Critical Care Transport [CCT]) matches patient acuity and safety requirements. Dynamically assign and route ground and specialized units across multiple health systems to minimize wait times, reduce out-of-service miles, and maintain balance across service zones. Navigate regional transport logistics, verifying that inter-facility moves adhere to company scope-of-practice guidelines, crew licensing limits, and operational standards for basic, advanced, and critical care units. Act as the operational liaison among hospital charge nurses, discharge planners, receiving facilities, and field crews to manage timing expectations, delays, and complex bed handoffs. Utilize Pafford medical protocols and operational guidelines to coordinate unit dispatch and prioritize requests based on acuity (including high-acuity SCT/CCT patients), hospital deadlines, and contractual response times. Accurately enter transport data, clinical levels of care, facility details, and unit milestones into Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) and tracking software. Handle sensitive information with professionalism while maintaining HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality. Supports and promotes the Pafford EMS culture and serves as a steward of the company brand. Maintains strict adherence to hospital policies, procedures, and standards. Maintains strict compliance with all Pafford Policies & Procedures. Maintains strict compliance with all rules and regulations set forth by state and federal programs. Performs other related duties or tasks as assigned. Education & Experience Requirements Active State or NREMT certification (EMT-Basic, Advanced EMT, or Paramedic) preferred, but not required; Oklahoma licensure or reciprocity required upon hire if certified. High School Diploma or equivalent required. High School Diploma or equivalent required. Must possess and maintain
BLS / CPR
certification. EMD (Emergency Medical Dispatcher) certification preferred, or willingness to obtain within sixty (60) days of hire. Minimum of one to two (1-2) years of active EMS field experience (BLS/ALS/CCT ground ambulance) or prior medical transport dispatch, transfer center, or related healthcare logistics experience preferred. Regional geographic knowledge preferred, or a willingness to learn the regional service footprint. Excellent computer proficiency with the ability to operate multiple CAD software applications, GIS/mapping tools, and monitors simultaneously. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Geographic and operational awareness: strong understanding of regional corridors, hospital system networks, and interfacility transport logistics. Ability to manage high-volume transport requests, live GPS tracking, and multi-line telephone and radio communications simultaneously. Strong clinical triage judgment to properly align transport levels of care (BLS, ALS, SCT, and CCT) with complex patient needs. Exceptional verbal communication skills, with the ability to negotiate transport timelines calmly, directly, and empathetically under pressure. Ability to remain organized and decisive in high-pressure, rapidly changing operational situations. Working Conditions & Physical Requirements High-tech communications and logistics center environment. 12-hour rotating shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Multi-monitor desk environment requiring sustained focus and computer proficiency. Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards. Work may require prolonged sitting, repetitive keyboard and telephone use, and the simultaneous operation of multiple systems and monitors. Must be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly in person, on multi-line telephones, and on two-way radios. Must possess visual acuity to prepare and analyze data, operate multiple computer terminals, and do extensive reading.
