Job Description

Build a Career in Manufacturing, Purchasing & Supply Chain We are a growing manufacturing company in Connellsville, PA specializing in cold-drawn wire products. We are looking for a Buyer / Supply Chain Specialist to join our team and learn the business from the ground up. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with numbers, solving problems, dealing with suppliers, and making things happen. You do not need to know the steel or wire industry when you start. We will teach you the industry and our business. The right person can grow into significantly more responsibility in purchasing, supply chain, production planning, sales, and business development. What You'll Do Purchase steel rod and other materials needed for production. Request and compare supplier quotations. Monitor steel prices, availability, lead times, and deliveries. Maintain purchase orders and supplier information. Monitor inventory and help determine when materials need to be ordered. Coordinate with production to make sure materials are available when needed. Help schedule and plan production. Work with suppliers to resolve delivery, quality, and pricing issues. Analyze purchasing and inventory information using Excel. Look for opportunities to reduce costs and improve purchasing decisions. Assist with customer quotations and other commercial activities. Research customers, markets, and potential business opportunities. Prepare reports and information for management. What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is smart, dependable, organized, curious, and willing to learn. You may be a good fit if you have: A bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, finance, economics, engineering, mathematics, analytics, or a related field; or 1-5 years of relevant experience in purchasing, manufacturing, supply chain, inventory, production planning, inside sales, or a related area. Strong Excel and analytical skills are important. We are much more interested in how you think and your willingness to learn than whether you already know the steel industry. You Don't Need to Know Steel If you are coming out of college, changing careers, or have experience in another manufacturing environment, don't automatically rule yourself out.
We will teach you:
Steel and wire products Our suppliers and purchasing process Production planning Inventory management Our customers and markets The economics of our business What we need from you is the ability to learn, analyze information, communicate clearly, stay organized, and take ownership of problems. Why This Position Is Different This isn't a job where you'll sit at a desk entering purchase orders all day. You'll work directly with suppliers, production, customers, and company leadership. You'll see how a manufacturing company actually operates—from buying the raw material, to scheduling production, to shipping finished product, to developing new business. As you learn the business, you'll have the opportunity to take on more responsibility. Benefits Competitive salary based on experience Health insurance Dental and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Profit sharing Paid time off Full-time, in-person position Opportunity for advancement and increased responsibility Who Will Succeed Here? You don't need to be a steel expert. You do need to be someone who: Likes solving problems. Is comfortable working with numbers. Can use Excel. Pays attention to details. Communicates well with people. Is willing to pick up the phone and talk to suppliers and customers. Can manage multiple priorities. Wants to understand how a business works. Takes responsibility rather than waiting to be told what to do. If that sounds like you, we'd like to hear from you.
