Siemens Mobility, Rolling Stock Division, is the North American market leader in the production of passenger coaches, locomotives, and light rail vehicles. Position Overview The Supply Chain Planner plays a key role in ensuring production readiness by timely Purchase Order Placement, managing critical supplier relationships, and driving the on-time delivery of materials. This role focuses on managing material planning, resolving supply chain challenges, overseeing procurement activities, and supporting cross-functional teams to maintain smooth operations in an engineer-to-order manufacturing environment. Success in this position requires strong analytical skills, effective communication, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. What your day-to-day will look like: Analyze demand in ERP, create Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders. Perform excess inventory analysis and coordinate with the warehouse to ensure availability of excess inventory while minimizing liability. Negotiate with suppliers for quick buys and escalate PO delivery issues as necessary. Drive PO acceptance and delivery confirmation process, partnering with internal stakeholders to resolve issues. Proactively monitor supply and demand imbalances and take corrective actions to resolve material shortages impacting production. Monitor Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) suppliers Collaborate with Project Management, Strategic Procurement, and other teams to address potential delays. To thrive in this role, you have: Bachelor's degree in a related discipline
  • supply chain, business, manufacturing, or industrial engineering degree, or 5+ years of equivalent working experience.
Worked on a supply chain or procurement role for over 3 years in a manufacturing environment Highly proficient in MS Excel skills. MRP systems knowledge, SAP Preferred. Strong negotiating skills Highly analytical with a proven ability to identify and resolve complex material-related issues.
