This position is responsible for developing and executing store shipment plans and special projects that support operational excellence. By leveraging data analytics and reporting, you'll track carrier performance to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries. You'll also contribute to process improvement initiatives aimed at reducing logistics costs, optimizing efficiency, and enhancing the overall store and customer experience.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Analytics and Reporting Analyze carrier and vendor performance data to identify service issues and provide actionable recommendations to drive continuous improvement. Prepare and deliver daily, weekly, and monthly reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) to support data-driven decision-making. Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all data provided by vendors and third-party service providers, maintaining data integrity across systems Monitor and track Dollar General assets, such as trailers and rolltainers, and update relevant systems to ensure proper accountability and utilization. Develop and deliver ad-hoc reports and analyses to uncover insights and support initiatives that enhance key performance standards (KPS). Operational and Financial Administration Oversee freight payment processes, including the administration of manual invoice workflows, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Manage claims procedures to recover transportation-related costs associated with merchandise, structural, or equipment issues, ensuring financial accountability. Utilize claims procedures to recover transportation dollars and payables related to merchandise / structure / equipment claims. Maintain and update transportation-related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring they remain accurate, relevant, and aligned with operational best practices. Perform audits to ensure compliance with Dollar General processes, identifying areas for improvement and supporting corrective actions to maintain operational excellence. Operational Responsibilities Actively monitor transportation systems and reports to identify discrepancies or incomplete activities, providing support to the Operations team and working directly with carrier partners to implement necessary corrective action. Proactively communicate with internal teams regarding delayed shipments or carrier related issues. Collaborate on cross-functional projects aimed at driving operation improvements and enhancing the overall performance of the company. Tracks DG assets (trailers, rolltainers, etc.) and updates the appropriate systems. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs): Proven proficiency with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and related operational processes. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Solid understanding of transportation, distribution, and broader supply chain concepts. Demonstrates general business acumen and strategic thinking. Exceptional multitasking and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment. Team-oriented mindset with a strong focus on customer service and collaboration. Self-motivated, with a demonstrated ability to take initiative, learn new processes, and adapt to evolving work requirements.
Qualifications:
Work Experience &/or Education:
Bachelor's degree in business, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or Logistics is required. Prior experience in a customer service environment, with a proven ability to manage and resolve issues effectively. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required, with an emphasis on Excel. Experience in retail transportation or working with a carrier is preferred and considered a strong asset.
