Position Summary JRP is seeking a Transportation Procurement Specialist to source and manage third-party transportation providers supporting our fuel delivery operations. This role will oversee carrier relationships, negotiate transportation rates, maintain agreements, coordinate billing, and monitor market conditions to ensure reliable and cost-effective transportation solutions. Key Responsibilities Source, evaluate, and maintain relationships with third-party carriers and transportation providers. Solicit bids and negotiate freight rates, fuel surcharges, and other transportation costs. Establish and maintain carrier agreements, pricing, and approved rates. Develop primary, secondary, and tertiary carrier options to support Dispatch and operational needs. Monitor transportation market conditions, rates, and availability to support pricing and forecasting. Analyze historical transportation data and market trends to identify cost and efficiency opportunities. Coordinate with Billing to verify, reconcile, and resolve carrier invoices. Partner with Procurement, Dispatch, Billing, and IT to improve transportation processes, controls, and reporting. Maintain accurate carrier, rate, contract, and related transportation information within applicable systems. Support operational continuity by identifying transportation resources and alternatives as needed. Qualifications Experience in transportation, procurement, logistics, freight brokerage, or a related field preferred. Experience with carrier management, freight rates, transportation markets, or third-party transportation preferred. Strong negotiation, communication, analytical, and organizational skills. Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make sound business decisions. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Work Environment This is primarily an office-based role within a fast-paced transportation and logistics environment requiring regular communication with internal teams, carriers, and business partners.
