Full-Time Logistics Coordinator & Office/Inventory Assistant About the Role MYP Horticulture is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and dependable Logistics Coordinator & Office/Inventory Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating inbound and outbound shipments, communicating with customers, carriers, drivers, suppliers, and our growing locations, while also supporting inventory management and general office operations. This position works closely with the Shipping and Inventory Managers to ensure orders are processed accurately, shipments are scheduled and delivered on time, and inventory records remain accurate. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator, strong problem-solver, and someone who can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Key ResponsibilitiesFreight & Logistics Management Book, schedule, coordinate, and track all inbound and outbound shipments. Arrange transportation with carriers, drivers, suppliers, customers, and other growing locations. Select appropriate carriers and assist with obtaining and negotiating freight rates. Coordinate delivery schedules and optimize transportation arrangements to minimize costs and improve efficiency. Monitor shipments from pickup through delivery and proactively address delays, damages, or other transportation issues. Develop practical solutions to minimize disruptions to the supply chain. Identify potential transportation risks and assist with developing contingency plans when required. Customer, Carrier & Supplier Communication Act as a primary point of contact for customers, carriers, drivers, suppliers, and internal growing locations. Provide timely updates regarding shipment status, pickup times, delivery schedules, and delays. Respond to logistics-related inquiries and resolve concerns or complaints promptly and professionally. Maintain strong working relationships with customers, carriers, suppliers, and internal teams. Spanish language skills are an asset but not required. Shipping & Receiving Coordinate and oversee inbound and outbound shipments. Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy, quantity, condition, and quality. Verify products, quantities, shipping information, and documentation before shipments leave the facility. Coordinate with internal teams to ensure orders are ready for pickup and delivered according to schedule. Report discrepancies, damages, or shortages and assist with resolving issues. Shipping Documentation & Compliance Prepare and process shipping and transportation documentation, including: Bills of Lading Delivery and receiving documentation Other required shipping documents Ensure shipping activities comply with applicable transportation, safety, customs, import/export, and company requirements. Coordinate with customs brokers and other service providers to facilitate cross-border shipments. Assist with customs clearance, inspections, documentation, and resolution of customs-related issues. Maintain accurate and organized shipping and transportation records. Inventory Support Assist the Inventory team with inventory data entry and maintaining accurate inventory records. Assist with crop counting and inventory verification. Assist with crop and plant movements between growing areas and locations. Help ensure inventory movements are properly recorded and communicated. Assist with investigating and correcting inventory discrepancies. Support inventory-related administrative tasks as required. Office & Administrative Support Assist with sales order entry and general office administration. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to shipments, inventory, and orders. Coordinate information between the logistics, sales, inventory, production, and management teams. Perform other administrative and operational duties as required. Qualifications Previous experience in logistics, transportation, shipping, receiving, inventory, customer service, or office administration is preferred. Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word . Experience with inventory management or ERP systems is an asset. Experience with domestic and cross-border shipping is an asset. Knowledge of customs documentation and import/export procedures is an asset. Spanish language skills are an asset but not required.
