Reports To:
Master Scheduler Salary Range:
$55,000-$65,000 annually, based on qualifications, experience, and demonstrated technical aptitude.
POSITION SUMMARY
Baker Manufacturing Company, LLC is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Production Planner to join our Supply Chain team. This entry-level position is designed for an individual interested in manufacturing, production planning, and operations management. The Junior Production Planner will support scheduling and planning activities across the Foundry, Machine Shop, Weld Shop, and Assembly departments to help ensure customer requirements are met efficiently and on time. The successful candidate will receive comprehensive on-the-job training and work closely with experienced planners, supervisors, and production personnel to learn Baker's manufacturing processes and production-planning best practices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist with planning and scheduling production activities across multiple manufacturing departments.
  • Monitor production schedules and communicate changes to supervisors and operations personnel.
  • Track work orders and production status to support on-time delivery goals.
  • Help coordinate workflow among the Foundry, Machine Shop, Weld Shop, and Assembly departments.
  • Review production priorities and identify potential scheduling conflicts or production bottlenecks.
  • Maintain accurate planning and scheduling information within Baker's Epicor Kinetic ERP system.
  • Participate in daily production meetings and provide planning and scheduling updates.
  • Work with Engineering, Purchasing, Quality, and Operations to support production requirements.
  • Spend time on the shop floor gathering information and developing an understanding of manufacturing processes and workflows.
  • Assist with inventory and capacity-planning activities as needed.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to production flow, efficiency, and scheduling.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Good problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work comfortably in both an office environment and manufacturing production areas.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate degree, technical training, or coursework related to manufacturing, operations, engineering, supply chain, or business.
  • Previous manufacturing, production, or operations experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Familiarity with ERP, MRP, or production-scheduling software.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel for data tracking and analysis.
  • General understanding of manufacturing processes and production workflows.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Ability to regularly walk through manufacturing and production areas.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to safely work around manufacturing equipment and follow all required safety procedures.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment while in designated production areas.
