This role works closely with the Inventory Manager and other departments to turn inventory data into actionable insights that improve accuracy, processes, training, and overall warehouse operations. Position Purpose The purpose of the Inventory Analyst is to investigate the root causes of inventory discrepancies and turn raw inventory data into tested hypotheses about why inaccuracies occur. The Inventory Analyst will use these findings to help the Inventory Manager and leadership make informed decisions regarding procedures, training, workflows, and process improvements that increase inventory accuracy over time. Essential Responsibilities Monitor inventory health and identify discrepancies through ongoing audits, including cycle counting and ABC analysis. Investigate inventory inaccuracies and develop hypotheses regarding their root causes. Test hypotheses using inventory data gathered independently or in partnership with an Inventory Associate. Analyze inventory information and identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement. Present findings and insights to the Inventory Manager to support changes to procedures, training, and workflows. Identify bottlenecks within storage and fulfillment processes and propose concrete process improvements. Assist with standardizing and documenting inventory procedures as processes are updated. Communicate findings and recommendations clearly across departments. Support continuous improvement efforts within inventory and warehouse operations. Skills and Requirements Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance/Accounting, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered. 2-4 years of experience in inventory management, warehouse/fulfillment operations, or supply chain analytics. Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and similar functions. Experience working with a WMS/ERP system such as Extensiv, RAMP, SAP, NetSuite, or a similar system. Strong analytical and root-cause problem-solving skills. Experience with cycle counting, ABC analysis, and inventory accuracy auditing. Strong cross-departmental communication skills. Experience with demand forecasting/MRP preferred. Familiarity with GL/cost-of-goods concepts as they relate to inventory preferred.
