locations Troy - 701 S Ridge Ave time type Full time posted on Posted Yesterday job requisition id JR9862 NPD Sourcing Co-op The Warewash Business Division produces Hobart brand commercial dishwashers that are used in hotels, casinos, restaurants, health care, schools and universities, cruise ships, and retail. The Hobart brand is a leader in the food equipment industry and our products have been consistently voted "Best in Class" by dealers and consultants. Reporting to NPD Sourcing Manager, the Sourcing co-op will help support the sourcing department on various projects. The assignment will provide hands-on exposure to day-to-day operations, as well as to serve as a developmental opportunity to increase their knowledge and experience in sourcing. Daily tasks include assisting with quotations and sourcing projects, learning ITW methodology pertaining to sourcing activities and supporting NPD projects. We are in search of students that are in their junior or senior year of college, seeking a business related bachelor's degree and that are able to handle multiple work assignments concurrently while demonstrating strong time management, communication, and organizational skills. The ideal candidate is self-driven, takes initiative, and can work independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accountability and follow-through.

January 2027- May 2027

Responsibilities:

Assist with supplier research, identification, qualification, and market analysis activities by collecting and evaluating supplier, pricing, and industry data to support sourcing decisions, new product development projects, and cost optimization initiatives. Support supplier communications and sourcing activities by coordinating meetings, tracking action items, and obtaining supplier quotes, samples, and technical information for new products and components. Coordinate with engineering, sourcing, supply chain, operations, and other cross-functional teams to track project timelines, manage supplier deliverables, and support successful new product launches. Collect and analyze supplier, pricing, and market data to support sourcing recommendations and cost optimization efforts. Assist in evaluating supplier capabilities, lead times, and product specifications to support sourcing decisions. Participate in new product development meetings to gain exposure to supplier selection and product launch processes. Assist with spend analysis, cost comparisons, and reporting to identify opportunities for efficiency and savings. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by documenting processes and identifying opportunities to improve sourcing effectiveness. Ability to travel approximately 5% of the time.

The minimum qualifications are:

Classwork toward a bachelor's degree (business degree preferred) MS Excel application proficiency Basic knowledge of financial principles including cost and volume analysis Problem-solving and risk assessment skills Ability to work in a professional office environment Prior operations or purchasing experience (preferred)
