Job Summary The Quarry Project Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of quarry development and capital improvement projects. This role manages cross-functional teams and contractors to ensure quarry improvement projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements. Duties Plan, manage, and oversee quarry projects and capital upgrades. Coordinate daily project activities with quarry operations, plant operations, maintenance, engineering, quality control, logistics, and outside contractors. Develop project schedules, budgets, scopes of work, resource plans, and performance milestones; monitor progress and adjust plans as needed. Ensure work is conducted in compliance with MSHA requirements, company safety policies, environmental permits, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Manage contractor performance, bid reviews, purchase orders, project documentation, change orders, and closeout activities. Partner with mine planning, engineering, and environmental teams to support long-term quarry development, reserve utilization, permitting, and reclamation activities. Identify opportunities to improve productivity, equipment utilization, traffic flow, material quality, downtime, and overall project execution. Lead project meetings, communicate risks and issues, and ensure stakeholders are aligned on priorities and deliverables. Skills/Qualifications Demonstrated experience managing projects, budgets, schedules, and contractors. Ability to read and interpret site plans, mine plans, engineering drawings, production reports, and project specifications. Strong leadership, communication, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to tolerate noisy, dirty, and uncomfortable working environments some of the time. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite and project management tools. Academic & Industry/Trade Requirements Minimum of 5 years of experience in aggregate quarry operations required. Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related field is preferred. General knowledge of federal mining and safety regulations. Physical Requirements Ability to walk frequently on uneven, rocky, muddy, or sloped terrain. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during site visits and operational reviews. Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25-50 pounds. Ability to operate a vehicle and travel throughout quarry properties and off-site locations. Ability to respond to emergencies, incidents, or operational issues at any time during working hours. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind.
