The Executive Director leads a team of 35 full and part- time employees and manages the organization's $3.0 million budget. S/he must be able to oversee fundraising, programming, community relations and financial activities. The ideal candidate must be able to build and maintain strong relationships with funders and other community leaders and have strong management experience. This candidate should also have expertise in mental health, specifically with adults with serious and mental health conditions, promoting the recovery model and demonstrating a passion for Keystone's mission. Founded in 1972 in Norwalk, CT, Keystone House, Inc. began with one home that served 10 clients. The organization grew significantly over the years, providing behavioral health services to adults living with serious and persistent mental health conditions. For more than 50 years Keystone has promoted the recovery of its clients. No matter who they are, or what their background is, the goal is to help and support each client to live their best life and meet their personal goals. Major Responsibilities Provide leadership and vision to ensure the effective operations and delivery of quality programs. Oversee and maintain a climate that attracts and retains a talented and diverse staff. Ensure consistent quality of finance and administration, fundraising, communications and systems. Leverage systems and processes to ensure program excellence and accountability. Work with the Board and CFO to monitor the budget and ensure sound financial controls are in place. Oversee and ensure compliance with and adherence to all contractual, accreditation and licensure requirements. Develop diverse fundraising strategies, including Board campaigns, donor cultivation, grant writing and social media. Report to Board of Directors on progress of programs and financial status, ensuring their full engagement in policy making, governance and resource development. Work collaboratively with the Board of Directors to set and achieve the strategic direction of the agency. Experience and Qualifications Previous management experience Successful fundraising and development experience Experience in program development Experience in clinical and crisis management strongly preferred for this leader. A solid understanding of nonprofit sector and/or governance, including fiscal management and business operations. Education A master's degree or higher in public administration, healthcare administration, business administration, nonprofit management, human services or a related field is required. Compensation The position is a full-time, exempt position with benefits and paid time off. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications with a range starting at $150,000 annually.
