Girls Inc. of Sioux City is seeking a dynamic, visionary, energetic and mission-driven leader to serve as Executive Director. For over 40 years, Girls Inc. of Sioux City has provided life-changing, research-based programming, academic support, and a pro-girl spaces to girls in our community. The Executive Director will champion Girls Inc.'s mission, grow the organization, serve as a public advocate, cultivate crucial community partnerships, and lead a small but dedicated team to expand impact and reach. This is an extraordinary opportunity for an advocate who is deeply passionate about youth development, gender equity, and social justice. Key Responsibilities The Executive Director is responsible for the overall strategic, financial, and operational health of Girls Inc. The primary areas of focus will include: 1. Mission-Driven Leadership & Culture a. Serve as the chief standard-bearer of the organizational mission, ensuring every strategy, program, and partnership is focused on inspiring all girls to be strong, smart, and bold. b. Foster a positive, collaborative, and mission-aligned workplace culture that reflects the values of Girls Inc. and prioritizes diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. c. Align staff development and program administration directly with the mission, empowering staff to deliver high-impact experiences for the girls served. 2. Strategic Leadership & Board Governance a. Partner closely with the Board of Directors to execute, refine, and advance a strategic plan. b. Maintain a collaborative relationship with the national Girls Inc. organization, leveraging national resources. c. Support the Board in governance, recruitment, and committee development to ensure strong organizational health. 3. Fundraising Support & Institutional Funding a. Manage the sourcing, writing, and reporting of grants and government contracts, focusing executive time on funding sources that align with daily operations. b. Act as the strategic partner to the Board's fundraising efforts; ensure Board members are equipped with the impact data, marketing materials, and organizational updates they need to successfully network. c.
Event Co-Coordination:
Partner with the Board to plan and execute annual campaigns and fundraising events. 4. Operational & Financial Management a. With the Board, oversee annual operating budget, ensuring strict compliance, audit readiness, and strong internal controls. b. Manage all day-to-day operations, including data-driven program administration, facility management, and team leadership. 5. Community Relations & Advocacy a. Serve as the public face and primary spokesperson for Girls Inc. of Sioux City, passionately articulating the organization's mission. b. Build and maintain strong partnerships with school districts, local government, corporate entities, and other community stakeholders. c. Advocate for public policies and community initiatives that support the rights, health, safety, and advancement of girls. Essential Education, Experience, and Skill Requirements- Bachelors' Degree in a human service field, business or related field.
- Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in leadership and management positions.
- Ability to lead a staff team to develop and implement a tactical plan that provides programming and services that align with the organization's strategic plan and vision.
- Demonstrated financial analysis and management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems and to make difficult decisions in personnel, finance and programming.
- Demonstrated success in fundraising and fund development.
- Outstanding communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability in incorporating diverse cultures, ethnicities, languages and abilities both within an organization and with the community.
- Background clearance.
